Hebrew New Covenant
This is a list of links and downloadable resources for reading Hebrew translations of the New Covenant (New Testament).
New Covenant in Hebrew by Prof. Franz Delitzch
In some of the studies on this site we use Professor Franz Delitzch's translation in Hebrew. While the translation was done from a Greek source, the lessons will show where corrections should
be made where the Greek translation from Aramaic or Syriac was incorrect. The reason for using this particular version is due to the fact that
most other Hebrew translations are modern or do not have the Biblical and Rabbinical Hebrew flow as does Professor Delitzsch's. Each translation of the Scriptures,
no matter what language it is, can never present the fullest meaning and understanding of the original Aramaic, thus we are limited in our resources in this area.
While I could easily have used the Hebrew translation of the Eastern Aramaic text produced by the Aramaic Scriptures Research Society in Israel (published by
the Bible Society in Jerusalem), it is a modern Hebrew translation. The lessons on this site are for learning Biblical Hebrew and not modern.
At present, I have PDF files of the 1937 London edition of Delitzsch's translation for the following books:
Matthew, Mark,
Luke, John,
Acts, Hebrews,
James
